Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – Stem cell donors needed for the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Donors swab the inside of their cheeks and complete a registration form, must be 18 to 35 years old and in good health. Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours to help find someone’s match. Contact Sherrill Murray-Lazarus to volunteer at [email protected]. The upcoming swabbing dates are below:

URGENT APPEAL – Murray Foltyn, husband and father of two young children, is battling Myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. He URGENTLY needs a matching blood stem cell donor. Murray’s best chance of finding a donor is among those of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. You could be Murray’s hero today. All it takes is a swab of your cheek to find out if you are a match.

Cantorial Concert – 7:00 – 9:00pm on Saturday May 20 postponed from pm Cantorial Concert with Student Cantor David Epstein & friends - Join us for a musical evening of song and fun - drinks and snacks. $10 / per person, maximum of $36 per family. Be a Chazan sponsor for $55.
TBJ Book Club – 12:30pm on Tuesday, May 2. Discussion of the book “The Light of the Midnight Stars” by Rena Rossner. Deep in the Hungarian woods, the sacred magic of King Solomon lives on in his descendants. Gathering under the midnight stars, they perform small miracles and none are more gifted than the great Rabbi Isaac and his three daughters. Hannah can coax plants to grow even when the weather is bitterly cold. Sarah can control the impulsive nature of fire. And Levana can read the path of the stars to decipher their secrets. But darkness is creeping across Europe, threatening the lives of every Jewish person in every village. Each sister will have to make an impossible choice in an effort to survive—and change the fate of their family forever.
TBJ Introduction to Judaism – No Class on April 6 due to Passover. 7:00 – 8:30pm on Thursdays through May 4, 2023. This course will explore the basic customs, texts, values, history and beliefs of Judaism and Jewish life. It is open to those who may be interested, those who may not be Jewish, those who did not attend Jewish religious school when children, those who are considering becoming Jewish, and those who are related/married/partnered with a Jewish person, and wish to better understand the Traditions and functioning of Jewish life. The course will be taught by Rabbi Douglas Kohn. To register, please call the office at 845-562-5516. TBJ Mitzvah Arugah Knitting Group – 7:00pm every Thursday. Feel free to pick up yarn at the temple office anytime and drop off finished hats. There is NO cost to you and all are welcome to join this growing circle of “Hookers & Loomers”.
