Religious School Consecration Dinner & Moving Up Ceremony – 5:30pm on Friday, May 19 with a barbeque dinner followed by services. The entire community will celebrate our religious school students, have a barbecue and eat cake…with a Shabbat service honoring Cantor David. Mark your calendars! Please RSVP by May 15 for the dinner so we know how much food to purchase.
Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – Stem cell donors needed for the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Donors swab the inside of their cheeks and complete a registration form, must be 18 to 35 years old and in good health. Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours to help find someone’s match. Contact Sherrill Murray-Lazarus to volunteer at [email protected]. The upcoming swabbing dates are below:

URGENT APPEAL – Murray Foltyn, husband and father of two young children, is battling Myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. He URGENTLY needs a matching blood stem cell donor. Murray’s best chance of finding a donor is among those of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. You could be Murray’s hero today. All it takes is a swab of your cheek to find out if you are a match.

TBJ Mitzvah Arugah Knitting Group – 7:00pm – Thursday, June 1. The knitting class will meet only on the first Thursday of the month until the end of August. Feel free to pick up yarn at the temple office anytime and drop off finished hats. There is NO cost to you and all are welcome to join this growing circle of “Hookers & Loomers”.
Cantorial Sing Along – 7:00 – 9:00pm on Saturday May 20 Sing-Along-With-David Epstein & friends - Join us for a musical evening of song and fun - drinks and snacks. $10 / per person, maximum of $36 per family. Be a Chazan sponsor for $55.
Tikkun Leil Shavuot – 7:30pm on Thursday, May 25 at the temple in conjunction with Congregation Agudas Israel. Rabbi Kohn and Rabbi Jacob will teach classes. If anyone would like to teach a class, please call the office at (845) 562-5516.

TBJ Sisterhood Seudat Shlishit – 6:00pm on Saturday, June 17. Customarily the third meal eaten on Shabbat. It has special significance because it is a mitzvah to eat three meals on the Sabbath. $18 for members/$25 for non-members. Men are welcome too! Please RSVP by June 8 to (845) 562-5516.

Social Justice Presents: Delivering Kindness - The next meal preparation will be Tuesday, June 13. A committee will be forming to prepare monthly Kosher meals at Kol Yisrael in service to the greater community. Chefs are Needed! Love working in the kitchen? Enjoy helping those in need? Funeral & Cemetery Pre-Planning Seminar - 11:30am on Tuesday, May 23 in the social hall. Light lunch will be served.
