Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – Please help add potential stem cell donors to the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Donors simply swab the inside of their cheeks and complete a registration form, must be 18 to 35 years old and in good health. Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours to help find someone’s match. Contact Sherrill Murray-Lazarus to volunteer at [email protected]. The upcoming swabbing dates are below:

Aleph Isn’t Enough: Adult Hebrew Book 2 – 6:30 pm on Thursdays. Continuation of classes from last Spring taught by Rabbi Douglas. From the Lives of our Ages: Exceptional Wisdom from the Bath House to the Donkey’s Mane – 7:00pm on Tuesday, November 1, 15 & 29 – Adult learning series taught by Rabbi Kohn with discussions about Rabbi Shimon ben Shetach, Rabbi Akiba and Brurya and how they lived their lives.
Critical Issues of our Day – Jewish Views, Values and Teachings – 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 2 & 16 taught by Rabbi Kohn. Major issues such as abortion, gun violence, immigration, and war will be discussed and what our Jewish tradition might offer.
TBJ Sisterhood Book Discussion – 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 10 at the temple. The book is “The Immortalists” by Chloe Benjamin. It's 1969 in New York City's Lower East Side, and word has spread of the arrival of a traveling psychic who claims to be able to tell anyone the day they will die. The Gold children—four adolescents on the cusp of self-awareness—sneak out to hear their fortunes.
New collection - Recycle for Sight - Old eyeglasses recycling. Gabby DeSiervo is spearheading a collection of old glasses for the Lions Club. Please place your slightly used eyeglasses in the box in the front lobby. All donations of used eyeglasses are gratefully accepted. No cases please.
TBJ Gift Cards - To increase our gift card sales, we will be launching a new program. Wednesday Delivery of Gift Cards right to your home! Email [email protected] with your gift card order by noon on Tuesday. Include your preferred delivery time slot (10-11 am, 11-1pm, 1-3 pm, 3-5 pm, or another specified time). Gift cards will be delivered right to your home on Wednesday at your indicated time, by a member of the TBJ Scrip Team. You pay by check, payable to TBJ, upon receipt of your gift cards. No delivery fee and easy to do!
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the ordering and reconciling of the gift cards once a week. If you are interested, please call the office at (845) 562-5516.
Newburgh Loaves & Fishes – Thanksgiving baskets will be made and handed out to people in need in our community. Donations of turkey, gravy, potatoes, canned veggies, red or black beans, rice cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and stuffing are needed. Please bring donations to the Deacon Jack Food Pantry at Sacred Heart School on Ann Street on Friday, November 18 between 1 – 3pm Monetary donations are also welcome.
