TBJ Religious & Hebrew School – Last Day of Religious School Sunday, May 21 at 9:30 am. Last Day of Hebrew School on Tuesday, May 16 at 5:00 pm for Gerry Hecht’s class.
Religious School Consecration Dinner & Moving Up Ceremony – 5:30 pm on Friday, May 19 with a barbeque dinner followed by services at 6:30 pm. The entire community will celebrate our religious school students, have a barbecue and eat cake…with a Shabbat service honoring Cantor David. Mark your calendars! Please RSVP by May 17 for the dinner so we know how much food to purchase.

Tikkun Leil Shavuot – 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 25 at the temple in conjunction with Congregation Agudas Israel. Rabbi Kohn and Rabbi Jacob will teach classes. If anyone would like to teach a 20-minute class, please call the office at (845) 562-5516.

Veteran’s Memorial Reading – 3:00 pm on Monday, May 29 at the Orange County Veteran’s Memorial at the intersection of Leroy Place and Grand Avenue. Please join us for a reading of all the veteran’s name who gave their lives in the service of our country with Rabbi Kohn and Frank DeSiervo.

TBJ Mitzvah Arugah Knitting Group – 7:00 pm – Thursday, June 1. The knitting class will meet only on the first Thursday of the month until the end of August. Feel free to pick up yarn at the temple office anytime and drop off finished hats. There is NO cost to you and all are welcome to join this growing circle of “Hookers & Loomers”.
TBJ Sisterhood Seudat Shlishit – 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 17. Customarily the third meal eaten on Shabbat. It has special significance because it is a mitzvah to eat three meals on the Sabbath. $18 for members/$ 25 for non-members. Men are welcome too! Please RSVP by June 8 to (845) 562-5516.
Yizkor Memorial Book - It's that time again to start thinking about your Yizkor Book dedications. The deadline to hand in the form below is Monday, July 10.
Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – Stem cell donors needed for the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Donors swab the inside of their cheeks and complete a registration form, must be 18 to 35 years old and in good health. Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours to help find someone’s match. Contact Sherrill Murray-Lazarus to volunteer at [email protected]. The upcoming swabbing dates are below:
URGENT APPEAL – Murray Foltyn, husband and father of two young children, is battling Myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. He URGENTLY needs a matching blood stem cell donor. Murray’s best chance of finding a donor is among those of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. You could be Murray’s hero today. All it takes is a swab of your cheek to find out if you are a match.
