Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – Please help add potential stem cell donors to the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Donors simply swab the inside of their cheeks and complete a registration form, must be 18 to 35 years old and in good health. Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours to help find someone’s match. Contact Sherrill Murray-Lazarus to volunteer at [email protected]. The upcoming swabbing dates are below:

New collection - Recycle for Sight - Gabby DeSiervo is spearheading a collection of old glasses for the Lions Club. Place your slightly used eyeglasses in the box in the front lobby. All donations are gratefully accepted. No cases please.
TBJ Gift Cards - To increase our gift card sales, we will be launching a new program. Wednesday Delivery of Gift Cards right to your home! Email [email protected] with your gift card order by noon on Tuesday. Include your preferred delivery time slot (10-11 am, 11-1pm, 1-3 pm, 3-5 pm, or another specified time). Gift cards will be delivered right to your home on Wednesday at your indicated time, by a member of the TBJ Scrip Team. You pay by check, payable to TBJ, upon receipt of your gift cards. No delivery fee and easy to do!
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the ordering and reconciling of the gift cards once a week. If you are interested, please call the office at (845) 562-5516.
Eligible for a free turkey you don't need? Tired of Chinese food and a movie on Christmas Day and willing to do a mitzvah instead? - Members of Kol will be partnering with King of Kings Lutheran church (New Windsor) to cook and prepare a Christmas Day holiday dinner for over 300. If you have a turkey that you won't be using, please consider donating it to this cause. We are looking for supplies and volunteers to help cook and serve on Christmas Day and the time leading up to it. Any and all assistance is appreciated. Love that we can help make a difference directly in our community.
Do you or your kids or grandkids have a talent for updating websites? Have a technical or creative streak and want to help improve our website? - Help us make our TBJ website reflect the warm and welcoming community we are. We are seeking motivated individuals willing to help lead the charge to update our website. Please reach out to Maryjean if you have any interest or know anyone willing to help out.
Mitzvah Mavens - In preparation for winter collections, we are seeking donations of scarfs, socks, gloves and any other warm weather attire - new or gently used. We will be donating them in conjunction with our very own Mitzvah Arugah handmade hats at various winter events and will be staging the third annual scarfs of love drive where we tie scarfs, with messages of hope to various places around Newburgh - encouraging anyone who needs some warmth of body and spirit to take one.
Newburgh Loaves & Fishes – Thanksgiving baskets will be made and handed out to people in need in our community. Donations of turkey, gravy, potatoes, canned veggies, red or black beans, rice cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and stuffing are needed. Please bring donations to the Deacon Jack Food Pantry at Sacred Heart School on Ann Street on Friday, November 18 between 1 – 3pm Monetary donations are also welcome.
